No Action, Talk Only (NATO)
Mood:  amorous
Thats what my wife always says of me...in some cases its true.

Working with special needs, I am studying a field known as structural cognitive functions. However, I am always concern with the overal profile. I believe that the environment plays a part in developing the special needs child, and also the quality of the caregiver.

I am always intrigue by motivational talks and toastmasters. To me, these guys are true glib masters. I particularly love Brian Tracy and Dr Phil Mcgraw. Their presentation is well research, well written and and well presented.

So, where is the link to today's blog? Well, I have always loved solving people's problems. Not trained in counselling, I have my own knack of psychology based on field experience. Not certified, but to a fairly good extent, I can understand people's issues. In a way, I believe that psychology is the best way to understand and solve problems.

For example, life is divided into 4 realms. There is the spiritual quadrant, intellectual quadrant, emotional quadrant and physical quadrant. These 4 realms complement each other. The balance of life and priorities are also evident here. IQ (Intellectual Quotient), EQ (Emotional Quotient) are two of the realms here. The latest q, Adversity Quotient (AQ) is the apex of a triangle of which IQ and EQ are the base. Our intellectual resources, coupled with our strength and control of emotions, will help us to cope with difficult times in business and crisis and pull us through.

Cheem right? But somehow i enjoy this crap with business models, pschology models, financial planning, engineering management and quality auditing. Jack of all trades, masters of none. Good for?

Today
Mood:  a-ok
My role in this earth is going to change in a few days time. I am a son, a brother, a worker and friend. Within a few days, a new life is coming, and I will be a father.

Being a father is a whole new ballgame and a new chapter in my life. Working as a special needs teacher and previously a student care teacher, I adore children.

I have seen divorced parents having so much problems and coping with these problems that they could not take care of their child. I have seen parents who overly pamper their children and let them go way out of control. There are many stories, and in many cases, I pity both the parents and children.

I am not superman, nor an expert. However, I hope that by balancing the carrot and cane, by the balance of intrinsic and extrinsic, and having proper plans and taking time and effort, that I will learn to be a good father. There are things within my control and things not within my control, and I must learn to let go.

Thus, with some apprehensive, I am seeking a goal and at least a plan for my family. That we would learn to depend and grow together and be supportive of our endeaviours. We may not be rich financially. But rich in love and values.

God bless.
